Can't get Valve Cover off due to pipe

can anyone tell me how to remove the rubber pipe off the front of the drivers side valve cover. It has some sort of plastic insert in it and don't want to break it. Have pic of where it connects and one with it over valve cover. Any assist recommendation greatly appreciated
