The 2016 Ford Ranger could end up killing off trucks from Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi.
The 2016 Toyota Hilux along with the Mitsubishi Triton have been launched in Australia but if the 2016 Ford Ranger has anything to do with it they may not do so well. The Ranger is making its way out in Q3 and it may come just weeks before the new version of the Hilux.
The Toyota Hilux is going to come with the 2.8 litre turbocharged engine with four cylinders and this is the six speed automatic diesel engine. It is also going to be made available in the 3.2 litre and this will have five cylinders and it will be available with six speed manual or automatic in the Ranger.
The Triton is going to have 2.4 litre engine with 4 cylinders and it is going to be made for sale with the five speed automatic engine with six speed manual gears. There is also going to be the twin turbocharged with 7 speeds in the 2.3 litre and a six speed manual.
The Toyota Hilux will be made available in the 2.4 litre turbodiesel and it offers up five speed manual gear and 400Nm.
The Ford and Nissan are going to be made available with the 2.2 litre engine in the Ford Ranger and in the Navara this is going to be the 2.3 litre engine. There should also be a 2.7 litre version in the petrol and the 4 litre petrol.
The Toyota Hilux will be able to two up to 1000kg, while the Triton is going to two up to 3100kg.
For the time being we will have to wait to find out if the Ford Ranger has what it needs to beat the Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota vehicles.
